Acoustic Response sells you worthless speakers out of the back of a van
Don't buy Acoustic Response Speakers!!!!
Here's how the scam works: two sales people drive around in a van (white mini van usually), they jump out of their car and
approach you with a story that goes something like this: "we're delivery people for some audio company and they accidentally
just gave us twice as many speakers as they were supposed to." they have a laminated promo card for the particular model of
speakers (707 series in this case) which prices them at $2400 a pair. then they simply try to get as much out of you as
possible while making it seem like you're getting a deal.
The salesmen are usually young men 18-24.
They also have a phone number for a fake audio company so you can call and confirm the price. (extreme audio) they guy
who answers actually can't tell you anything about any audio equipment but he'll quote the $2400 price for the speakers. This
is actually the guy in the Acoustic Response warehouse as far as i know.
ACTUALLY THE SPEAKERS ARE ONLY WORTH ABOUT $100 A PIECE according to real audio companies. And that's just for the housing, the actual speakers sound like shit and are basically worthless.
From everything i've gathered, the whole Acoustic Response company is built around this kind of sales technique but the
whole thing is actually legal because there are no rules when selling on the street like this.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SCHEME AND SPREAD THE WORD.
I know this is currently going on in california out of redwood city. vans are patrolling berkeley, san francisco and other cities.
supposedly the company is national if not worldwide.
